Edward Henry Campbell, Jr. passed away on May 17, 2022 surrounded by his children at his bedside in Lebanon, PA. He was born to the late Edward and Dorothy Campbell on December 7, 1938 in Elmira, NY. Ed graduated from Elmira Free Academy and served 4 years in the United States Navy. He retired in February 1994 after 29 years of work as an electrical engineer at IBM, Owego, NY.Ed was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Anne Campbell (Adams). He is survived by their four children; Karen Parsons (Steve) (NC), Laura Davies (Jeff) (PA), Paul Campbell (Heather) (MD), Deborah Campbell (NY), his siblings, Bishop Frederick Campbell (OH), Father Theodore Campbell (MN), Jeffrey Campbell (AZ), Marie Sterling (Joseph) (AZ), and Adam Campbell (Denise) (AZ). He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; Daniel (Lindsay) and Joshua (Whitney) Parsons, Michael (Michelle), Aaron, Ryan (Lauren), and Alex Davies, Austin and Eliza Campbell, Mikayla and Tyler Rypkema as well as his ten great-grandchildren; Connor, Noah, Hayden and Eric Parsons, and Colton, Evalyn, Callen, Blake, Owen and Arabella Davies, as well as many loving, extended family and friends.Ed had a passion for the Word of God. He was a gifted Bible teacher that served for many years in Sunday School and small group ministries in First Baptist Church of Newark Valley, NY, First Baptist Church Bay City, MI, Elizabeth City Evangelical Methodist Church, NC and First Baptist Church of Horseheads, NY. Ed was a strong, faithful man that led his family well. He was a brilliant man: a thinker, a teacher, a fixer and a provider of much humor. He passed on his love of laughter and joking as well as his love of the outdoors to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will greatly miss Dad, Papa, and Friend but we greatly rejoice in knowing that he is with his Savior, completely healed. A celebration of Eds life will be held at First Baptist Church of Newark Valley, 40 Whig St., Newark Valley, NY 13811 on Monday, May 23, 2022. Calling hours are from 1:30-2:45pm. Memorial service will be from 3:00 3:45pm. Family and friends are invited to a meal in the church fellowship hall directly after the service.
