Edith Smith Wilson

Edith A. Smith Wilson, 75, formerly of Newark Valley, passed peacefully away early Thursday morning,Dec. 10, 2015. She is survived by her loving sister Janet E. Bouton of Endwell, and her nieces and nephews: Rachel Bouton, Dianna Bouton, W. Lee Bouton, Rev. Barbara (Bouton) Snyder and her husband Rev. Fred Snyder. Many cousins also survive.Born on June 28, 1940 in Newark Valley, Edie was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Frieda E. (VanHousen) Smith. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Wilson and her brother Harold E. Smith. Edie was a graduate of Newark Valley High School and served with the US Air Force from 1961 to 1964. She enjoyed cross word puzzles and feline companions.Graveside services will be held at a future date in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.
