Earl R. Babcock'S Full Obituary

Earl R. Babcock, 77, of Endicott, NY, passed suddenly on June 22, 2009. Earl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Joan L. (Graham) Babcock, his son, Guy (Diane Miller) Babcock, daughters, Debra (George) Damasevitz, Moya Kay Mariani, Sophia (David) Kenyon. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Anthony, Eric, Michael, Rebecca, Nate, Alana, Alex, great grandchildren, Chase and Tyler, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pearl (Albert) Payne, Frances (Dwight) Wright, George Graham, Rosemarie Pavia, Moya (Fran) Gaynor, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Earl was born on Jan 22, 1932 in Endicott a son of the late Jason and Sybil (Whytock) Babcock. A sister, Georgiana Comstock also predeceased him. Earl was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Amphenol/Cadre following more than 25 years of service and also from IBM, Owego, following 15 years of service. For the past 9 years, Earl has been a greeter at the Wal-Mart store in Vestal, a position he held with dignity. He was also a 16 year member of Vestal Fire Dept. CO 1, where he had served as 1st Lieut. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His winning smile as well as his gracious and friendly personality will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service for Earl will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at Vestal Hill Memorial Park, Tower of Memories Chapel. Rev. Jerry Terry, Pastor of Calvarys Love Assembly of God Church, will officiate.
