Douglas Sands Tiffany, 89 of Ocala, FL, died April 2, 2022, in Clover, SC surrounded by family. Doug was the loving husband of DonaMae (Hulslander), who preceded him to Heaven in 2018. Born November 6, 1932, in his maternal grandparents' home in Bainbridge, NY, he was the first son of Ellsworth Sands and Ruth Edith (Figger) Tiffany. Doug graduated in 1951 from Owego Free Academy in Owego, NY. He was a star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball and briefly went on to play semi-professional football. Doug proudly served in the US Marines, enlisting in 1952. Doug married DonaMae on July 11,1959, at the First Congregational Church in Newark Valley NY. As a dedicated employee of International Business Machines (IBM) for 35 years, he served as a Program/Financial Control Manager in Owego. He also served as a Tioga County Solid Waste Commissioner. Doug was very involved in the Newark Valley community, for over 60 years he served in various rolls; as secretary for the Newark Valley Fire District for 32 years, Newark Valley Town Supervisor and town judge for 10 years, and on many committees for the Newark Valley School System, and cheering on the Cardinal teams. Doug & DonaMae both were involved with the Hope Cemetery Association, working many years installing foundations for monuments, mowing, marking out graves, caring for the plants and whatever else needed to be done. They, along with Donas father Aubrey Huslander, carefully tended the plants at the cemetery for many many years. With guidance from his father-in-law, Doug designed and built their first home in Newark Valley. He then went on to build their dream home on Harnecky Road in Newark Valley. Retiring to Florida in 2000, where he also designed their last home. Even in Florida Doug continued his service to his community and as Secretary/Treasurer and President for 10 years for their local Home Association. Doug will be honored with a period of visitation at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, followed by full military honors, at a time to be announced. Their ashes will be placed in Hope Cemetery Newark Valley NY. He will be missed by daughters LoriLea Tiffany (Kenneth) Williams of Clover,SC and Patti Jean Tiffany her partner Eric LaClair of Endicott NY. Grandchildren, Sarah Tiffany(Williams) (Sean) Tolodziecki, Steven Douglas (Elizabeth) Williams, Suzanne Leah (Williams) (Justin) Lackey and Amanda Hughes (Benjamin) Young. He is also survived by 5 great-grandsons, Simon Douglas and Jude Michael Williams, Devin Brian and Andrew Brian Tolodziecki and Ashton Young. Doug and DonaMae are now together again forever holding hands
