Dorothy H. Peterson Formerly of Newark Valley, NY Dorothy H. (Dot) Peterson, 78, passed away Thursday April 15, 2010. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Thomas E. Peterson, her sons; Jeff and Robbie Peterson, and Tom, Jr and Roz Peterson, of Albany, NY; her Brother, John Sawatzky, Sister, Laura Lindemoen, and 5 Grandchildren Rachel, Josh, Jack, Emmett, and Miles. She was lucky to have many close friends, especially Mo and Fran Gaynor, with whom she spent her final hours.Dorothy was born in Grand Forks, ND on Sep. 28, 1931 a daughter of the late Peter and Laura (Fish) Sawatzky. As a military wife and mother, Dorothy spent many years traveling with her husband, living in Italy and traveling throughout the world. Dorothy and Tom, later made Newark Valley there home. and resided there for over 40 years. Dorothy treasured spending time with family, playing cards, visiting the casinos, and sharing a meal with friends at Rosie's and Grand Central Restaurant. Friends and relatives are invited to a time of sharing and memories at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, NY, from 2-4 PM Sunday, April 18th, A Funeral Service will follow at 4 PM with Deacon Warren Rutan Officiating.
