Doris May Wurtenberg

Doris Wurtenberg has done her last load of laundry and washed her last dish, passing away on June 1 , 2019 in Hendersonville, NC. Doris was born in Ithaca, NY. She was raised and chose to raise her family in the rural township of Newark Valley, NY. Doris was a devoted mother and housewife. She was predeceased by her husband of 30+ years George "Bob" Wurtenberg. She is survived by her five children Kevin Wurtenberg, William and Gail Wurtenberg, Susan and Tom Fargo, James and Kathy Wurtenberg, Cindy and Chris Bull as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. For the past 24 years, Doris has lived with her youngest daughter Cindy. She loved to cook and cleanwell sometimes... and brought a smile to all who met her. She had a passion for raspberries, games and puzzles. Doris was a member and active volunteer at the First United Methodist Church when residing in Newark Valley and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 70 years. She will always be treasured in our hearts and memories. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10 am. .
