Doris E. Layton

Doris E. Layton, 84, of Newark Valley, passed away on Feb. 15, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Arland D. Layton, Sr.; her sons: Arland Jr.(Dave) and his wife Rosemary, and Richard Layton; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces anad nephews and her beloved dog, Sandria. Doris was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church; an 18 year employee of Endicott Johnson; a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, an expert seamstress, and had crocheted well over 1000 afgahns for her family members as well as many others. In addition to her kindness and gentle manner, she will be most remembered for her homemade piesthe BEST in the world!A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Sat. Feb. 21 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Newark Valley with Rev. Thomas Valenti officiating. For those wishing, kindly consider directing Memorials to St. John the Evangelist Church.
