When tomorrow starts without me, try to understand, an angel came and called my name, then took me by the hand. Our hearts were broken on Wednesday, February 15th 2023 with the sudden and unexpected passing of our loving Doreen L. Wood. Doreen was born on a beautiful spring day on April 28, 1970 in Endicott, NY a daughter of Thelma Welch and the late Donald Welch. She attended BOCES and was a graduate of the Newark Valley High School. "Aunt Reen" as she was affectionally known by her family and many friends treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to heading out to find the next bargain at a yard sale or visiting a thrift store. Reen always carried a smile and could brighten anyones day. Our hearts still ache in sadness and the tears still flow, what it meant to lose you, no one will ever know. Doreen left her handprint on so many during her time with us. She will be greatly missed by her children: Jason Welch, Lenny King and Christy Oralls; her special grandchildren: Colton, Ryan, Landon, Sam, Braden, Logan, and Paisley. Her loving mother Thelma Welch; her brothers: John (Amanda) Welch, Donald Welch, David (Wendy) Welch, Darin Welch. Her sisters: Debbie (Brandon) Vainio, Donna (Mitch) OConnell, Dawn Hales, Diane (Brian) Sague. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. Doreen was welcomed into Heaven by her dad Donald Welch; brothers: Daryl and Leon Welch; and a infant grandson. We know if our love could have saved you, you would have lived forever ~ Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, February 20th from 2 4 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. A time of remembering the special gift Doreen was to all of us will be held at 4 pm.
