Donald P. G. Zimmer

On April 15, 2017, Donald Zimmer left his Newark Valley home, and, guided by his parents Donald and Margaret Zimmer and beloved son-in-law Brian Dougan went to meet Jesus and his angel grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary and his cherished children, their spouses and their childrenChristopher and Amy Zimmer, Adelyn and Miah; Matthew and Tanya Zimmer, Madisyn and Morgan; Ellon Dougan and Flannery; Thaddeus and Theresa Zimmer, Helena, Xavier and Zelie; Meghan and Robert Ogden, Jordan; his sisters Elizabeth (Mark) Welser and Theresa Zimmer; numerous relatives and friends in his church and community.Don was a well known and respected dairy farmer for many years in Newark Valley. He was a long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley and a talented floral designer. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, April 21st at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St., Newark Valley. A luncheon and time of sharing will follow in the church hall until 3:30 pm. Charitable donation may be made to Tioga County Rural Ministries, 60 North Ave., Owego, NY 13827.
