I Corinthians 15:57 Donald H. Webber, 76, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on October 7, 2008. He quietly slipped the bonds of this Earth while his loving family were at his side. Donald is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Daisy M. (Pitcher) Webber; and his cherished children and their spouses, Joseph Delvin Webber and Teresa Walters, Donn and Susan Webber, Dixie Webber-Sanders and Tracy Sanders. He was 'Pops' to his eight adoring grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, Sara, Meako, Kimberly (Sean), Bethann (Nathan), Megan (Joshua), and Allison; and his great-granddaughter, Rachel Ann; and great-grandson, Eli. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Rotach, Pauline McNeel; and brothers, Albert, Charles, Delbert, Arthur and Stanley Webber and his mother-in-law, Aileen Pitcher. Donald was one of ten children born to the late Delbert and Mable (Knapp) Webber, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Lavina and Maryanne; and brother, Roland. Donald was a graduate of North Rose High School , Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City and received his Masters in Education degree from Cortland State University . He was an elementary school teacher at the former Edward R. Eastman School in Berkshire, Nathan T. Hall School in Newark Valley and retired from Owego Elementary School . Donald and Daisy have worshiped and been very active at the First Baptist Church in Maine for over 20 years and he was a substitute Sunday School Teacher there. For 4 consecutive summers, Donald was passionately involved in SEND INTERNATIONAL, a missionary group that focuses on building churches and children's summer camps in Russia . He also used his God-given talents for carpentry and electrical work to assist many people locally and served as chairman of the Visitation Committee for 'Mended Hearts' at Wilson Hospital for the past 15 years.Donald's family will receive their friends at the First Baptist Church of Maine, located at 16 Church St. , on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held there at 11 a.m. on Friday with Pastor Loren Winn and Pastor Paul Williams officiating.
