May 22, 1945 — June 29, 2019

Diana M. Hoyt, 74, a former long-time resident of Newark Valley, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 29, 2019. Diana is survived by her devoted sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis J. and Karen Hoyt and Scott C. and Donna Hoyt; her cherished grandsons: Jarrett, Joshua, Justin, Shane and Brady. Also surviving are her brother Eugene (Cyndee) Pine, sisters Betty (Gene) Payne, Sharon Tilley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Sydney and Katherine Pine, her husband David L. Hoyt and her sisters Janet Lewis and Lois Cheely. Diana was a graduate of Newark Valley High School Class of 65 and was member of the former Rebekah Lodge in Newark Valley. In her early years, Diana focused on being a stay-at-home mom and raising their boys to be well-rounded and successful in their personal and professional lives. She was a devoted wife having celebrated 49 years of marriage before Davids passing in 2015. As her boys entered high school, she started working at the Gold Medal Ladder Factory. She would walk to work every day no matter the weather. She worked several other jobs after the factory closed before retiring. She and David moved to Canandaigua, to be closer to their boys and resided there for 17 years. For the past 2 years she has resided in Lockport. Dianas family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday, July 5, from 1-3 PM. A Celebration of Her Life will follow there at 3 PM with Father Albert Sam officiating. Friends who wish may kindly consider directing memorials in Dianas name to the American Heart Association.
