Obituary David L Gritman, 90, of Endicott, NY, passed away on Monday, November 8th, 2021 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford, NY where he has happily resided for the past several years. Dave was born in Endicott on Jan 18, 1931 a son of the late Walter and Marion (Crum) Gritman. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, his daughter Faye, his siblings Richard Gritman, Shirley Howard, Beverly, Wesley, Ralph, and Jimmy Gritman, and his grandson Andrew 'AJ' Pedley. He is survived by his son Robert and daughters: Maxine (Michael) Haskell, Jill Pedley (Bounlom Inthirath) and Bonnie Gritman, his sister Helen (Vince) Belle, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his many friends made at the Veterans Home, among them his favorite --Jamey Supensky who guided him through many activities. Dave was a proud veteran of the US Navy and retired from IBM, Endicott following more than 30 years of service. He loved to eat and visit and when he was able, traveled to some of his favorite places like Phil's, Sue's and Pete's to enjoy the company and good food. He also enjoyed woodworking, painting, flea markets and just keeping his hands busy. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed football, baseball and NASCAR. Dave's family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday, NOV. 19th from12-1 PM. A Memorial service will follow at 1 o'clock with Pastor Jon Scofield from New Life Ministries officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the beginning of the service. Inurnment will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery.
