He was born on May 23, 1934 in Oakland, Pa, a son of the late Frank and Dortha (Myers) Burnett.Burnie as he was affectionately known is survived by his loving wife of 25 years; Nancy (Chicone) Burnett, Newark Valley his children; Stuart (Connie) Burnett, Tempe, Az., Victoria Burnett, Dameron, Md.,Duane Burnett, Baltimore, Md., Matthew (Peg) Burnett, Gurley, Alabama, Daniel Burnett, Gainesville, Georgia, Mark (Lisa) Burnett, San Antonio, Texas, Michael (Kerrie) Burnett, Houston, Texas; his step children; Monica (Mike) Ulbig, Binghamton, NY, Cheryl (David) Columber, Bradenton, Florida, Linda (Gary) Brundage, Binghamton, NY, Lori (Peter) Cardinale, Apalachin, NY; 9 grandchildren; his beloved kitties Domino and Sissy Girl; his special friends Chris and Mertie Pozzi.Burnie was a member of The American Legion post 87 in Endicott, NY, an avid NASCAR fan you could always find him whistling in his tool shed where he loved to tinker around with tractors or anything mechanical. The family will receive their friends on Saturday March 1, 2008 from 11-12 noon at the First Baptist Church, 40 Whig St. Newark Valley, NY followed by a celebration of his life at 12 noon with military honors being accorded.
