Cooper Joseph Knapick

March 29, 2007 — March 7, 2025

Cooper Joseph Knapick, 17, of Binghamton, passed away on March 7, 2025. Cooper was born on March 29, 2007, to his loving parents Joseph Knapick and Laura (Muller) Knapick. Despite the challenges he faced due to Cerebral Palsy, Cooper was known for his perpetual smile, which shined brightly even through his pain. He was a young man who embodied courage, gentleness, and love, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Cooper’s memory will live on in his sister Mikenzie Jo Knapick, his maternal grandfather Stephen Muller and paternal grandfather Joseph Knapick Jr., his aunts and uncles; Micheal (Andrea) Muller, Jennifer Piercy, Becky Hamlin and Kathy (Dennis) Morrison, as well as his special aunt Patricia ‘Grandma Pat’ Cawley, and his cousins Nathan and Sophie. A special thank you to Tess Palmetier for blessing us with your care of our Cooper and his best friend Tom Cunningham. Many Aunts, Uncles, and friends who became our family also survive.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Judy Knapick, an aunt Regina Muller, and special uncle Daniel ‘Grandpa Dan’ Cawley.

From an early age, Cooper's enthusiasm for life was evident. He was a go-getter who never let his physical limitations define his capabilities. His favorite phrase, "Me too," reflected his desire to be included in every aspect of life. Cooper made it clear that he wanted to be a part of it all, and his family and friends made sure that he was.

Cooper's wheelchair was a part of his daily life, but it was never just a wheelchair to him. He transformed it into his personal vehicle of adventure by always clutching a yellow steering wheel, ready to navigate his way to his next exciting destination. This small act was a testament to his refusal to be held back by any obstacle.

Music held a special place in Cooper's heart. He was never happier than when he was singing karaoke, with the song "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen being his top choice. Cooper's love for music was just one of the many ways he expressed the joy he found in life.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and Guthrie Lourdes Hospice for the compassionate care shown to them during this difficult time.

A celebration of Cooper’s Life will take place at New Life Ministries 201 Hill Ave, Endicott, NY 13760, on March 29, 2025; Cooper’s Birthday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memories and condolences can be shared in Cooper’s online guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com.
