Connor Ian Vanzile

February 8, 2006 — June 23, 2024

Connor Ian VanZile, 18, tragically lost his life and went to be with his grandma, Corinne Collins, on Sunday June 23, 2024 at Wilson Hospital.

Connor is survived by his loving parents Nicholas VanZile and Lisa Collins; his sisters, Jadyn VanZile, Katelyn Andrews and his brother, Ronnie Eastman; his nieces and nephew Lilly, Joy, and Coby whom he helped raise. Also surviving are his grandparents Charles Collins, Kathryn and Melvin VanZile, aunts and uncles: Jason, Kelly, Amanda, John, Mike, Sheri, and James; many cousins including Caiylene whom he was very close to. In addition to his Grandma Corrine, he was predeceased by his aunt Flo Avery, his great grandparents Bob and Ann Collins, John and Annie Avery, his former football teammate Miranda Brown, and his baby deer, Leo.

Connor attended Newark Valley High School and Broome-Tioga BOCES where he was preparing for his future employment in the electrical field. Working with Slavik & Co. was more joy in learning than work for him as he prepared for his future.

Connor was a very respectful young man with a huge heart which he wore on his sleeve. He was well known for his sense of humor, smile, his physique, and there really are not enough words to explain just how truly amazing he really was! Soccer, basketball, football, wrestling, working out, fishing, riding his dirt bike, splitting wood and hanging with his boys kept Connor going all the time. He ended every night with a swim in the pool and cuddles with his beloved dog, Sadie.

Our hearts go out to all the other families involved and prayers for Dylan and the Iverson family. Thank you to Zach, Kaiden and their families for treating Connor as their own. He will be greatly missed. We truly appreciate everyone who has reached out, donated, and helped in any way. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to gather at MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley, on Tuesday July 2nd from 10 am-2 pm followed by a time to share memories. On-line memories and condolences may also be shared in Connors guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com
