Cornelia Bell Connie Yingling, 83, of Newark Valley, passed peacefully on Dec. 7, 2012, following a period of declining health. Connie is survived by her loving children and grandchildren: Dr. David and Cindy Yingling, Cape Girardeau, MO, and their children, Michael, Sara (Jesse), Meghan(Michael) and Daniel (Molly); Patricia Weidberg, Albany, NY, and her daughter Amy; Carolyn Yingling, Catskill, NY, and her children Kira and Joshua. Also surviving are her four great grandchildren: Andrew, Anna, Blake and Janiya; brother-in- law and sister-in-law, Earl and Jane Yingling, several nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by Glenn, her husband of 64 years, on Feb. 29, 2012, her sister Clara Louise (Bell) Campasino and brothers, Isaac Osmer Bell, Jr., and Eugene Rockwell Bell.She was born on April 28, 1929, in Rockland Twp., PA, to the late Isaac Osmer and Melissa Mae (Rockwell) Bell and was graduated from Titusville, PA, High School in June 1945 at the age of 16. Shortly thereafter, she became the valued bookkeeper at Dunns Store; and on Jan. 31, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Glenn. Connie has been a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark Valley, served as Treasurer and was a member of the Parsonage Committee. In her early years, she was a member of Home Bureau and enjoyed square dancing with Glenn. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and scrabble and shopping for gifts. Her family was the center of her life.A Funeral Service and celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Monday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. Her pastor, Rev. Nancy J. Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am.
