Charlotte Irene Alexander

Our beloved mother and grandmother Charlotte Irene Alexander, 92, formerly of Berkshire, passed away peacefully at James G. Johnson Nursing Home in Johnson City, on March 30, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte was born on November 21, 1931 in Straits Corners, NY, to the late Frederick and Inez (Lefler) Clark. She grew up in Berkshire and was a life-long resident, graduating from Newark Valley High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life David, in Berkshire, where they raised their five children. She especially enjoyed family dinners and get-togethers where there was lots of food and family humor. Charlotte worked for many years at IBM in Owego. She was an avid crossword puzzler and a life-long member of the First Congregational Church of Berkshire.

She is survived by her children, Ila Blinn, Ina (Roy) Wakeman, Terri Coulter (Greg Davis), Julie (Dustin) Sweet, and Michael Alexander. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren: Nikki (John) Hrustich, Kelly (Chris) Gardner, Patrick (Jennifer) Blinn, Mitchell (Sydney) Blinn, January (Michael) Pratt, Jamie (Jason) Wooten, Ashley Nugent, Benjamin (Julie) Coulter, Meghan (Dan) Pauley, Nathan (Raegan) Sherman, Erin (J) Voorhees, Michaela (Jake) Swift, Kristy (Ross) Temple, 27 great grandchildren: Zachary, Mason, Koby, Abigail, Gracie, Tanner, Jack, Makana, Sheridan, Charlotte, Noah, Sam, Lincoln, David, Sawyer, Kaleb, Carter, Alex, Aden, Rory, Zosia, London, Maksim, Alaina, Brantley, Lorenzo, and Ryan, and her great-great grandson Ryder, also surviving is her sister-in-law Cecila (Tootie) Clark and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, David Alexander, her sister Elva Jackson, brothers Rollyn, Frederick, George, Gerald, and Richard Clark, her son-in-law Ralph Blinn, and grandson Brandon Coulter.

Friends and family may gather to share memories on Thursday April 4, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley, NY. A service celebrating Charlotte's life will begin at 3:00p.m. with Pastor Paul Kunik officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Berkshire Evergreen Cemetery.
