Cecil Davison

January 24, 1928 — January 6, 2014

On January 6, 2014, our beloved father, grandfather, and brother, Cecil Davison, 85, of Berkshire, NY, passed peacefully after a short illness. He was the son of the late Preston and Viola Davison of Berkshire. In 2005, he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Louise A. (Lantz) Davison. He is survived by his children Margaret Peggy Johnson and Samuel (Karen) Davison; grandchildren, Daniel and Renee Johnson, Jack and Ciara Davison; sisters, Jane Luddy and Mabel Adams; brother, Jan Davison nieces, nephews and cousins. Cecil was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WW II and a US Army veteran, serving in Korea. He was a successful dairy farmer for 36 years. Cecil enjoyed his family and his faithful canine companion Rolo, as well as many other dogs. He also enjoyed his time boating on the SS Stall-Out, canning, making maple syrup, and drinking his cold beverages. Cecil was a caring and generous man. His straight-forward sense of humor will be greatly missed. His family will receive friends on Friday, Jan 10th from 6-8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. Burial will be at 11 am on Saturday at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. Full Military Honors will be accorded there. Remembrances may be shared in his guest book at macphersonfh.com.
