Catherine M. Schonbeck

Catherine M. Schonbeck, 62, of Berkshire, NY passed away at her home, following an illness, on Monday, December 6, 2010. Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gary Schonbeck, her children Susan (Daniel) Garrison and Chad (Judy) Schonbeck, her brother, John (Angie) Savage, her grandchildren, Cynthia, Johnathan and Kirsten, several nieces, nephews and cousins, her father-in-law, Gustave Schonbeck and her sister-in-law Gayle (Richard) Magwood.Cathy was born on Dec. 9, 1947 in Worcester, MA a daughter of the late John and Mary (Yurasha) Savage. She graduated from High School in Auburn MA and from the School of Cosmetology in Worcester, MA. She was a licensed beautician. Cathy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley and a long time member of the Berkshire Reading Club. She loved her home, caring for her family and traveling to Alaska and Cape Cod, MA.Her family will receive friends and celebrate her life at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday, Dec. 10 from 6-8 PM.
