Carl D. Snapp

Carl D. Snapp, 79, of Newark Valley, passed away on January 29, 2018, following a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Carl was predeceased by his loving wife Donna, and his parents Jean and Gerald Snapp. He is survived by his children Lori Snapp, Tracie Snapp, and Bud (Tina) Snapp; sisters Glenda (Erwin) Snapp Clark and Janet Snapp; grandsons Carlton and Andrew Snapp; grandchildren Jolene (Keith) Payne and Garret (Amanda) Akins; 6 great grandchildren; special nephew Butch (Donna) Rogers; cousin and best friend Jim (Linda) Ferguson; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carl retired from the Tioga County Highway Department after 35 years of service. He then enjoyed working with his special friend and nephew Tom Scott at his excavating company. Carl was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time out in the woods, and especially enjoyed cutting wood with his grandsons. Carl treasured time spent with his family, and will be greatly missed. Carls family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Thurs., Feb. 1st from 5-8 pm. A celebration of his life will be held there on Friday at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider directing contributions in Carls memory to the American Cancer Society.
