Brenda Williams

Brenda M. Williams, 55, of Owego, passed away on January 29, 2019. She is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart Andrew Gradel; daughter Brittney Gradel; sisters Bonnie (Gary) Kimball and Barbara (Richard) Edwards; brothers Richard (Donna) Williams and Kenneth (Sandy) Williams; sister-in-law Ginger (Mike) Payne; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her beloved support dog Peanut is missing her greatly. Brenda was the daughter of, and predeceased by, Robert and Ruth Williams. Brenda's family was the center of her life and she embraced her life as a wife and mother. Her daughter, Brittney, was her very best friend. Some of her favorite memories were weekly shopping trips, lunches and visits with her two sisters and her daughter. Brenda loved her home, a beautiful log cabin, which Andrew and she built. She took pride in displaying her Mom's artwork and her dad's wood working throughout her home. Her love for children and the children's love to "Miss Brenda" was evident in her daily life at the Abide in the Vine day care. In her free time, Brenda ran her own candle business, Brit's Wicks, and enjoyed gardening. She loved all animals, especially dogs, cats, and chickens. Brenda centered her life around investing in her home and family, and her sense of humor and caring heart will be missed by all who knew her. Her family will remember her for the determined strength she displayed throughout the treatment of her disease. Family and friends will gather to share memories at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, from 5-7 pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Readling from Broome Oncology and Dr. Reagan from Strong Memorial Hospital for the care they provided Brenda.
