Beverly Jean Gardner

May 28, 1935 — April 19, 2021

"Our Mother kept a garden, -- a garden of the heart; She planted all the good things that gave our lives their start." On April 19, 2021, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, Beverly J. Gardner, 85, passed on and was joyfully reunited with her parents, Carl and Marguerite (Decker) Klossner, her husband Ralph, grandson Joel, great grandson Troy, and her sisters: Grace and Gloria and most recently, her loving and devoted brother Carl. Bev lived her life with grace, dignity, humor and courage. Her loving spirit will always live in our hearts but our lives without her hugs, laughs and smiles will never be the same. Her son, Dale Johnson, daughter, Dawn Olson, brothers, Roger (Sue) Klossner, Harold (Pat) Klossner, sister, Carol Ann Tyo, grandchildren, Daniel Johnson and fianc Becky, Betsy Olson, Renee (Michael) Strangeway, great grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, James Craig, many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Gardner and Klossner families as well her dear, dear friend and partner-in-crime, Judy K., will all greatly miss her presence. Bev was a faithful member of East Berkshire United Methodist Church and the Berkshire Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. For many years she was a beloved Transportation Specialist, aka, school bus driver with the Newark Valley Central School System. Many, if not all, of her former students will fondly recall her expertly coiffed beehive hairstyle! Other friends will remember and treasure her carefully designed handmade crafts and her love for Lincoln cars which, by the way, she meticulously cared for! Bev also liked to adorn her home and front yard for the Holiday Seasons and was a skilled cook and baker. She enjoyed hosting family and friends, but more so enjoyed watching their smiling faces as they enjoyed her cuisine and each others company. Her greatest pleasure was to give whatever she had to others. We will sure miss you Bev and will always love you. Friends are invited to a visit with the Bevs family at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Saturday, April 24 from 10 am until 12 noon at which time a celebration of her life will be held. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire. Social distancing will be followed. Those wishing to remember Bev with a contribution are asked to kindly consider the American Cancer Society, the Berkshire Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary or East Berkshire UMC in her memory. Memories and condolences may be written in her guest book at macphersonfh.com .
