As a gentle morning rain fell, the heavens raised a golden soul from this earth. Beverly J. Davis passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2018 after a period of declining health. Born on March 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Edward and Thelma (Best) Jewett. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John Jewett. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, L. Sheldon Davis, children, Fred O. (Peggy) Davis, Bonita Bonnie R. (Richard) Nelson, Charles E. (Vicki) Davis, Diane L. Davis and Ann M. Beebe (David Brink); 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Jackie Jewett, brother-in-law Philip S. Davis and many nieces nephews and cousins. Being a mom and dairy farmers wife was her purpose in life as her husband and family were her cornerstone. She was a life member of the Berkshire United Methodist Church and served as treasurer for over 50 years. She was a charter member of the Berkshire Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Historical Society, a 4-H leader, FHA volunteer, and was instrumental in organizing Berkshire Heritage Days for many years. Bevs family wishes to thank Hospice and all the caregivers who have so lovingly helped Beverly. A special thank you to Darlene, Valerie, Penny, Bonnie, Kari, and Ashley. At Beverlys request, a private family service will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire.
