Beverly J. Whitmarsh

Beverly J. Whitmarsh, 78, of Richford,and formerly of Waverly and Montour Falls, passed away at her home with her family by her side on February 18, 2016. Bev is survived by her children, Walter (Robin) Vandermark, Arthur (Brenda) Vandermark, Lisa (Andrew) Giannio, Tammy Lawton (John) Palmer, daughters-in-law, Mary Vandermark, Darlyne Hartman, sister, Adeline Ryder and her best friend and partner for the past 15 years, Richard Perry. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews,cousins and dear friends, Mary Giannion and June Benjamin.Beverly was born on March 22, 1937 in Waverly, NY a daughter of the late Ruth (Vogel) and Earl Whitmarsh. She was also predeceased by her step father, Basil Richardson, her sons, Charles Hartman, Ronald Vandermark, brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Whitmarsh, sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and Donald Wheeler.Beverly lived her life for her children. She was an excellent cook and baker of delicious pies and cakes. At one time, she owned and operated a restaurant in CT.Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and sharing of memories from 5-7 pm on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Life will follow there at 7 pm with Rev. James T. Willard officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira.
