Beverly J Thomas

Beverly J Thomas, 79, a long-time resident of Berkshire, went home to be with her Lord on October 29, 2022. Bev is survived by her loving sons: Loren (Michelle) Thomas, and Scott (Renee) Thomas, her former daughter-in-law, Kathleen Thomas and her grandchildren: Donald (Leah) Thomas, Trisha Thomas, Sherilyn (Ronnie) Parker, Colleen (Grady) Ballard, Ashley (Michael) Chandler, Kyle Franklin, 4 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen Thomas Odom, Beverly Thomas, Addie Hover and Betty (John) Calkins and many nieces and nephews also survive. Beverly was predeceased by her high school sweetheart, best friend and devoted husband of 52 years, Donald B Thomas, her parents Arthur and Margarette (Ames) Hover and her brother Gerald Hover. She was a long-time, active and devoted member of the Jenksville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, participated in the choir and seldom missed helping at Church dinners. She and Don loved to visit other churches as well, far and wide, to break bread at their dinners. Bev had a smile that was not only beautiful but also warm and welcoming. Over the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her family and enjoyed special moments with them, from baking to tea parties and playing cars with her grandchildren. Her door was always open to the many neighborhood children and she greeted them with cookies and snacks. She enjoyed knitting and playing cards and had a love of wildflowers. In her spare time, she became acquainted with the internet and began surfing much to her delight! Bev, you will be greatly missed but the beautiful memories of your presence will remain in our hearts forever. Family and friends are welcome to a time of sharing memories and stories at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on FRIDAY from 4-6 pm. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday at the Jenksville United Methodist Church followed by burial in Glen Hope Cemetery.
