Betty Jane Travis-Vosburgh

Betty Jane Travis-Vosburgh, 90, of Newark Valley, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Born in Canisteo, NY, she was the daughter of Mildred and Andrew Travis, Sr, twin sister of Andrew, Jr., and sister of Mary Louise Hallock and Loreen Travis, all who predeceased her. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard Vosburgh and her devoted daughter, Cynthia Vosburgh. Betty attended Houghton College and majored in music. She was a devoted and active member of Main Street Baptist Church, Binghamton for 63 years and lent her beautiful soprano voice to the Choir for more than 50 years. A retiree of IBM, she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Dick and Betty have many fond memories of their retirement winters in Florida. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hearth at Castle Gardens and Ideal Rose Court for their loving care. Bettys family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Tuesday from 12-2 pm where a Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm.
