Bernadette Mcbride

Bernadette D. McBride, 92, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 4, 2023. Bernadette was born May 11, 1930 in Cairo, Illinois. She is predeceased by her husband, John W. McBride, her parents Paul and Mary Magee, her daughter Eileen Shannahan Huffman, her brothers, Paul, James, and Bernard, sisters, Ellen, Margaret, and Mary, and her very special friend Delores Williamson. Bernadette is survived by her sons, Patrick Shannahan, Kevin (Rebecca) McBride, Scott McBride, and Rick McBride, her daughters, Ann (Douglas) Grassi and Karen Vinti. Many special nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, in addition, her cherished friends, especially Becky and Cindy Williamson and Fran and Albert Olsen. Bernadette lived her life dedicated to her Catholic faith. She worked as a bookkeeper primarily in the automobile industry and for her home parish, Most Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Later in life she relished traveling all over the world, particularly her visits to Ireland. She loved to watch Westerns and baseball. She was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan but enjoyed watching any baseball game. The family would like to thank all who cared for her and especially those who provided help and support from Hospice. Family will receive friends at Most Holy Rosary Church, Route 26 Maine, NY on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10-11, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11.
