Bea Dean, 74, passed peacefully on Jan 6, 2009. Bea was at the home of her beloved daughter Karen, son-in-law Steve and granddaughter Alexandra, in California. She had just recently enjoyed a visit with her beloved son Richard, daughter-in-law Cindy and grandson Sean, in Arizona. Bea is also survived by her loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose (Richard) Range, Josephine (Starr) McConnell, Lorraine Fox, Delores Heller, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Carmen (Kate) Sepe, Paul (Georgianna) Sepe and Anthony (Linda) Sepe, brother-in-law Paul (Sheila) Dean, sisters-in-law, Nancy Karaman, Mary Sepe, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Bea was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert W. Dean on May 4, 2007 and by her sister, Mary Cherchio, brothers, Louis and Daniel Sepe and brother-in-law Samuel Heller.Born on April 8, 1934 in Cortland, NY, Bea was a daughter of the late Antonio and Pasqua (Camillo) Sepe. Bea was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and a doting grandmother. She attended St. John the Evangelist Church, was a long time and very active member of the Newark Valley Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and was well known for her exceptional cooking skills and her high-score bowling.Her family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 12th from 10-11:30 am at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St., Newark Valley at 12 Noon with Rev. William A. Moorby, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Cortland Rural Cemetery, Cortland, NY. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Newark Valley Fire Dept. or to the charity of choice in loving memory of Beatrice M. Dean.
