At the age of 96, our beloved Aunt Bea passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by her devoted friends, Donna Buddenhagen and Danny and Carol Quick. She is predeceased by her parents, James "Pete" and Mona Hover and her husband of 50 years Earl D. Sutton. Waiting for her also were three brothers: Stanley, Gerald "Joe", and Donny Hover as well as two sisters, Lois Howland and Thelma White. She was a very strong presence in the lives of her many nieces and nephews and those memories will always be comforting. She carried with her on this new journey, a piece of all of our hearts.Bea was raised in Newark Valley and was a member of the graduating class of 1939. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and always lived her life by the Golden Rule. The door to Bea and Earls home up on "King Hill" was always open to their many friends and family and the sweet smell of deserts and homemade bread kept everyone coming back. Bea spent many an hour at her sewing machine, creating, fixing and mending for those less skilled. She was a strong advocate of the Red Cross and was a frequent blood donor herself. For many years, she served on the board of the Maine Cemetery.A Celebration of the Life of Beatrice (Hover) Sutton will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 3rd at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley, with burial immediately following in the Maine Cemetery. Your thoughts and condolences can be written in Beas guest book at macphersonfh.com If you were ever touched by the warmth of Aunt Beas love and friendship, please pay it forward in her memory.
