Barbara Brusso

Barbara Brusso, 83, of Weltonville, NY passed away Monday May 10, 2021. She was born to the late Gerald and Beatrice Houston, August 8, 1937, in Elmira NY. Barb graduated from Elmira Southside. She was married to Stephen Brusso Sr. in 1956 and they lived together in Weltonville for forty-two years. Barb had two brothers: Gerald Houston Jr. (deceased) and Gilbert Houston (living); and two sisters: Betty Jerzak and Margaret Schliebener (both deceased). Barb is survived by her husband Stephen Brusso Sr.; three children: Stephen (Patricia) Brusso Jr. of Chandler, AZ; Patricia (Edward) Quick of Berkshire; Tena Maggard of Weltonville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild (with another one on the way), and several nieces and nephews. Barbara enjoyed outdoor activities; camping, fishing, campfires and day trip scenic drives; old time country music; and collecting Eagle and Hummingbird figurines. Barb really enjoyed watching boats navigate through the lockes especially the Eisenhower Lockes. Until her health declined she enjoyed spending time at various casinos with her husband and sister Margaret. A celebration of Barb's life will be held on Sunday May 16 at Noon at the Flemingville United Methodist Church. MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, is assisting the family with arrangements.
