Arthur A. Wakeman

Arthur A. Wakeman, 72, of Bridge Street, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011. Art is survived by his children: Arthur (Cheryl) Wakeman; Ward Wakeman; Brenda Gordon; Renee (Kenneth) Hanabaugh; Karen Benson and Dawn Wolcott; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill (Helen) Wakeman; Bob (Susie) Wakeman; George (Beverly) Wakeman; Frank Wakeman; Roy (Ina) Wakeman; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary (Donald) Payne; Margie (Joe) Faber; Kathleen Frain; grandchildren: William, Mary, Gina, Harli, Gio, Michael, Edward, Dustin, Jessica, Paul, Andrea, Stephanie, John, Gregory (Teddi), Adam (Kaitlynn) Kenneth, Katie, Cory, Samantha, David and Austin; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Art was predeceased by his parents Edna and William Wakeman; and brother Jerry. Art was born on September 21, 1938 in Endicott, NY a son of the late William and Edna (Seward) Wakeman. He was a veteran of the US Marines and a retired employee for the Town of Newark Valley. Art enjoyed hunting, his family and spending time on the farm. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.Funeral services for Art will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 6pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig Street, Newark Valley with Pastor James T. Willard, officiating. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Thursday from 3 to 6pm.
