Arnold D. Creeley, Jr, 73, of Newark Valley, passed away at his home on August 26, 2015 following a period of decling health. He was born on July 21, 1942 in Endicott, the son of Gertrude (Vargason) Creeley and the late Arnold D. Creeley, Sr. In addition to his amazing mother Gert, Arnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Deborah (Kulesza) Creeley and his children:William Creeley, Samantha (Ashley) Brewer, Karen (Steve) Brewer, Arnold Creeley, III, Colleen (David) Heggelke, Mark Creeley, Brett Creeley and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are his loving siblings: Charles (Michelle) Creeley, Judith L. Mayer and Rose Lorraine (Leonard) Terenzi, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father Arnold, he was predeceased by his siblings: Elizabeth Marshall, Cathy Warner, Richard Creeley, George Pete Creeley and his nephew Larry Goodrich.Arnie was a graduate of Newark Valley High School, a veteran of Vietnam serving in the US Army and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. For many years he served as Sgt. with the Corrections Division of the Tioga County Sheriffs Office and retired as Sgt with the NYS Court System. He was a lifetime member of Glenn A. Warner VFW Post 1371, Owgo and the American Legion. His favorite pastime was family time, vacationing and coin collecting.Friends are invited to gather with the family at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley to celebrate his life and share stories and memories on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 1-3 PM.
