Arlene M. Valentine

Arlene (Card) Valentine, 83, formerly of Spencer, NY, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 10, 2017.Arlene was born on August 25, 1933 in Endicott NY the youngest of the 8 children born to Allen and Mina Mae (Till) Card. In addition to her parents and her 7 siblings, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Carl Valentine Sr., her daughter Francine Valentine and son Neil Valentine. Arlene devoted her life first to her Lord and Savior, and then to her loving husband and children who were the smile of her heart. She was a devoted and much loved member of the North Spencer Bible Baptist Church for almost 60 years.She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses: Richard (Pam) Valentine, Rodney (Laurie) Valentine, Carl Valentine, Jr., Cornelia (Joe) Maffia, Cindy (Rich) Winslow; her grandchildren: Emily (Mike) Charley, Daniel Valentine, Donald Valentine, Jessica(US Navy Chaplain, Arthur) Briggs, USAF Tech Sergeant Anthony Maffia, Amelia (David) Edwards, Abigail Valentine, Allen Strickland, Shannon (David) Santos, Charles Strickland, Krystal (Robert) Henderson, Lindsey Anderssen, Tiffani Valentine, John Carl Valentine, Eric Valentine, Zoey Valentine along with her 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law Alice(Robert), Connie, Pearl, and Virginia and many nieces, nephews and her very special friends June Brown and Nancy Grover with whom she shared many memorable Wednesday lunches. The family wishes to add a special thank you to her daughter Cindy who cared for Arlene daily over the last year and the Guthrie Hospice Program. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Services and Celebration of Arlenes Life at 12 noon on Thursday, February 16 at the Bible Baptist Church, 721 Ithaca Rd. Spencer, NY 14883. A period of visitation and sharing will be held prior from 10-11:45 am. Caring assistance is being provided by MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.
