Arlene M. Haines, 88, of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully at her home following a period of declining health. Arlene is survived by her loving children: Judy Loeffler and Rodney (Debra) Haines; grandson, Robert (Davina) Haines; great grandchildren: Robert Haines, JR. and Lydia Klockner; her sister, Charlotte Mikels, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her loving caregivers and adopted kids: Tammy Bower and Hank Hawley. Arlene was born in Maine, NY on June 2, 1925 the daughter of Fay and Leona (Corwin) Moulton. She was predeceased by her husband James B. Haines and infant son, James; her sisters: Eleanor George and Dee Rockwell; her son-in-law, Richard Loeffler. She was a graduate of Union Endicott High School class of 1942 and taught herself to become an accomplished seamstress and tailor. Arlene was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Berkshire; a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed traveling following Jims retirement. She will be remembered for her love of God, her family, all of nature and her very unique sense of humor. Her family will receive friends at the First Congregational Church in Berkshire on Thursday from 6 to 7 PM. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Life will follow there at 7 with her pastor, Rev. Jerry Platt, officiating. For those who wish, kindly consider directing memorial gifts to the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, in loving memory of Arlene M. Haines.
