Anne Ocapink

Anne Ocapink, 91, formerly of Berkshire and Owego, passed away following a long period of declining health on Friday, August 22, 2014. Anne has resided at Bridgewater Center for Nursing and Rehab in Binghamton for the past several years.Born on Nov. 17, 1922 in Newark NJ, she was the last surviving child of Trofim and Mary Okalik Ocapink. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings: Anthony Ocapink, Katie Sheldon, Irene Janac, Helen Ocapink, Stella Ocapink and Mary Nichols. She is survived by her nephews Paul Sheldon and Paul Janac and niece Paula Walter.Mary lived on and helped contribute to the operation of the family farm in Berkshire for many years. She was also a waitress at the Owego Diner. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at 2 pm on Monday at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley. Rev. James T. Willard will officiate. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.Her family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of the service.
