He is survived by his parents, Philip and Suzanne (Cummings) Kasper, his brother, Todd (Sara Birch) Kasper, his sisters, Jill (Chris) Roth, and Emily (Chuck) Schneider. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Michael and Matthew Kasper, Ben, Sam, and Abby Roth, Ezra and Chloe Schneider, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a very special friend, Betty H. Evans and her parents. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Lorabelle Kasper, Bruce and Pauline Cummings; his uncle, David Cummings and his aunt, Anne Wahl. Andrew was born on October 4, 1982. Soon after his birth, he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and was shunted; then at age 4, he developed non-stop status epilepticus seizures which he miraculously later outgrew. Andrew graduated from Newark Valley High School with an IEP diploma and from BOCES - Multi Occupational Program. His greatest accomplishment was getting his drivers license and being allowed to drive a 7-mile radius. Andrew will always be remembered for his charming smile that would light up a room, great hugs, and never complaining for what he was dealt with in life. Andrew was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maine, NY, where he was the head usher, custodian, and a former trustee. He was also the housekeeper at NELCORP Electrical Corporation and former substitute custodian at Maine Memorial. He competed in Special Olympics for years, where he earned many medals and ribbons. He made lots of friends and particularly enjoyed competing in basketball, bocce, bowling and volleyball. He was the Special Olympics 2005 Male Athlete of the Year.
