No Farewell Words Were Spoken, No Time To Say Goodbye. You Were Gone Before We Knew It, And Only God Knows Why.Andrew G. Andy Leigh, 41 of Speedsville, passed away very suddenly on November 14, 2015 as a result of an auto accident. Andy is the beloved son of James and Carol (Zimmer) Leigh, brother of Dennis J. (Tina) Leigh and uncle to his cherished nephew, Zachary. Also surviving are his aunt Cheryl Morse, many cousins and a multitude of loving friends.Andy was born on Sept. 17, 1974 in Ithaca. His love of racing began when he was introduced to the Southern Tier Microd Club at the age of 7. Racing has been his passion ever since. He competed in street stock and micro sprint racing and most recently he has been preparing to compete in XCEL 600 Modified Racing. Andy graduated from Newark Valley High School in 1993. He was employed as a machinist with Emerson Power Transmissions, Ithaca for 15 years and for the past 3 years with Crown Industrial Corp in Cortland.Andys family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 12 noon until 2 pm. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Andys Life will follow there at 2 oclock with Rev. Richard Schaal officiating. Memorials may kindly be directed to Speedsville Volunteer Fire Dept., 40 Mill Rd.
