Albert H. F. Austin

Albert H. F. (Frank) Austin, 84,of Richford and formerly of Willard, NY, passed away at his home in Richford on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 following a period of declining health. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Albina 'Beanie' Austin,his son, Michael D. (Roxanne) Austin, and daughter, Karen (Jeff) Talcott. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jason (Tiffany) Austin, Jennifer (Tim Petriwsky) Talcott, Katherine (Jacob) Payne, Melinda (Michael Zierbel) Talcott, and great grandchildren, James and Sophia Austin, Rhyley Payne, Caleb Zierbel, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Frank was born on Feb. 27, 1927 in Turbotsville, PA a son of the late DeLancy and Martha (Ross) Austin. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Theater during WW II on the USS Floyd B. Parks and was a NYS Safety Patrol Officer at Willard State Hospital, retiring in 1983. Following retirement, Frank and Beanie enjoyed winters in Florida, and camping in their motorhome, traveling extensively throughout the States and into Canada. He also enjoyed bowling and dancing and was a member of VFW in Ovid. A Family service will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley at the convenience of the family with Military Honors accorded. Burial will be in the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.
