Ada Ruth Ace, 76, of Hullsville Road, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 29, 2016. Ada is survived by her husband David B. Ace; her sons: David Joseph Ace; Edward George and his wife Beth Ace all of Owego; her sisters-in-law: Shirley Callahan of Newark Valley and Wilma Ace of Owego; several nieces, nephews and their families; her special canine companion Kat. Ruth was predeceased by her parents; a infant son Scott Michael Ace; brothers-in-law: George Ace and Joseph Callahan; nephew Michael John Callahan and niece Laurel Ace. Ada was born on November 23, 1939 in Junction City, KS a daughter of the late Joseph and Ada R. (Champ) Gerlecz. She was a graduate of Unified of Omaha High School and later received her Associates Degree for Business from Broome Community College. She was a long-time employee of United Water Works in Owego and also worked at the Town of Owego Clerks Office. Ruth enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and genealogy. She was a member of the Business and Professional Womens Group and served on the Board of Directors for the New Hope Center. She will be forever remembered and forever missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, February 3rd from 1 2pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Timothy Middleton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Broadway Cemetery.
