Robert G. HoskinsOf MaineRobert G. Hoskins, 62, passed very suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 18, 2009. Bob is survived by his sisters and brothers, Shirley Guiles, Raymond (Betty) Hoskins, Donna (Harold) Arnold, Judy Smith, Larry Hoskins, Randy (Melissa) Hoskins and Rusty (Diane) Hoskins; sister-in-law: Judy Hoskins Heeman,; Brothers-in-law: Dean Gurney and John Wood. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.Bob was born on July 25, 1947 in Binghamton a son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Talcott) Hoskins. His brother Gary and sisters Sharon Gurney and Cleo Wood and brother-in-law, Raymond Guiles also predeceased him.He was a graduate of Maine-Endwell High School, where he was active on the football team; a hardworking dairy farmer and a logger. Bob adored his nieces and nephews and always had a candy bar ready for them when they came to visit. He was an enthusiastic coon hunter and won many trophies in various competitions. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.Bob's family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 10am until 12 noon at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley. A funeral service and celebration of his life will follow there at 12 noon with Rev. James Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
