Mary R. Bachmurski

Mary R. (Wait) Bachmurski, 85, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2011 with her family by her side. She is survived by her children: Edwin M. Bachmurski, John A. Bachmurski, both of Newark Valley, James D. Bachmurski, Decorah, Iowa, Julia (Joel) Sherwood, Newark Valley, Martha (John Schaffer) Bachmurski, Maine, NY, Joanne (Greg) Labuz, Town of Dickinson, brother in law, Stanley (Rose) Bachmurski, Newport News, VA, sister-in-law, Esther Wait, Athens, PA; grandchildren: Nathan Holbrook, Nicole Holbrook, Johnathan Hyde, Bryon Bachmurski, James Bachmurski; six step grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josiah E. and Rosa Bella (Barber) Wait, her husband, Edward W. Bachmurski, and her brothers, Joseph, Weldon and Wilford Wait.A life-long resident of Newark Valley, Mary was born on September 24, 1925. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Newark Valley School System. On Oct. 28, 1952 she and Ed were married at the Union Baptist Church in Endicott. Together, they owned and operated the family dairy farm on Lamb Rd. for many years. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Newark Valley and a member of the Newark Valley Senior Citizens. She enjoyed every element of nature and many happy hours working in her beautiful flower beds and gardens.Her family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, from 6-8 PM and Thursday morning one hour prior to her funeral service at 11 am. Pastor Michael Spiegel will officiate and burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
