Henry J. Beebe

Henry J. Beebe, 65, of Newark Valley, passed away on Nov. 26, 2012 following an illness. Henry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carole (Holland) Beebe, his children: Henry C. Beebe, Amy Soper, Julie (Robert) Sheets and his mother, Edith I. Beebe. Also surviving are his brothers, David (Kathy) and Walter (Carol) Beebe, grandchildren: Paige, Jonathan, Sierra, Austin, several nieces, nephews and his life-long friend, Ronald Smith. He was predeceased by his father, Henry F. Beebe and brother, Roger N. Beebe.Henry was born on Dec.23, 1946 in Newark Valley, NY. He attended Newark Valley Schools; served in the US Army (Vietnam) and was a recipient of the Bronze Service Star. He held a membership in VFW Post 1536, Sayre.In his early years, Henry was an officer for the Owego Police Dept and was also employed at Hollenbecks IGA in Newark Valley. He retired from Lockheed Martin (Formerly IBM) following 41 years of service.Henry was an expert marksman, an avid sportsman and was happiest at any outdoor activity. He shot his final trophy, a seven point buck, six days prior to his passing. Henrys family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley.
