Donald R Guiles

Donald R. Guiles, 81,of Maine, NY passed away at his home on June 18, 2011. Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Delores J. (Hutcheson) Guiles, daughter, Betty Jo (Ken) Ackley, sons, Robert (Lynn) and Fredrick (Carol) Guiles. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Wilma, Helen,Minnie, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Guiles, many nieces, nephews and cousins.Don was born on Feb. 24, 1930 one of 12 children born to the late Ernest E. and Helen T. (Chapin) Guiles. He was predeceased by his son, Douglas W. Guiles, siblings, Glen, Howard, Rodney, John, Jim, Leona, Winona and an infant. Don was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served as Highway Superintendent for the Town of Maine, retiring in 1984. He was a member of American Legion Post 1390, Maine and a life member of N.R.A. enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a proud man, full of love and compassion for his wife, children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.Friends are invited to join his family at a graveside service in Maine Cemetery at 10 am on Thursday, June 23. Pastor Loren Winn will officiate and military honors will be accorded. Memorial contributions may kindly be directed to American Legion Post 1390, Maine NY 13802 in memory of Donald Guiles.
